W5520 Sweater - Mud Crop Wool Blend Bouclé Braided Knit Flared Sleeves Women's Italian

Regular price €159.67 EUR

Bouclé. Braided. Mud. The Earth-Tone Crop.

The W5520 in mud is the same construction as the ecru and black — crop sweater in wool-blend bouclé braided knit (70% polyester, 30% wool) with flared sleeves — but in a colorway that sits between the two: warmer than black, deeper than ecru. Mud is a warm, earthy brown-grey that amplifies the texture of the bouclé differently from either — the loops and braided pattern visible with depth and warmth, the colour reading as considered and grounded. Made in Italy by LA HAINE INSIDE US.

Why This Sweater Is Different

  • Bouclé Yarn in Mud: Bouclé is a yarn with a looped, knotted surface — the loops are created during the spinning process and create a fabric with a textured, three-dimensional surface. In mud, the bouclé loops catch light with warmth — the earthy tone adding depth to the shadow and texture of the surface. The mud colour sits between the high visibility of ecru and the absorption of black, creating a bouclé surface that is warm, dimensional, and grounded.
  • Braided Knit Construction: The sweater is knitted in a braided pattern — stitches crossed over each other to create a cable-like, interlocking surface. In mud, the braided pattern reads with warmth and depth — the earthy tone amplifying the shadow of the braided crossings without the high contrast of ecru or the absorption of black.
  • Flared Sleeves: The sleeves flare from the shoulder to the hem — creating volume at the arm that falls away from the wrist. The bouclé yarn amplifies the flare — the textured surface catching light as the sleeve falls.
  • Mud Colorway: A warm, earthy brown-grey — a colour that reads as both neutral and considered. Mud works within earth-tone palettes (camel, sand, olive, brown) and as a contrast to black or white. The bouclé texture in mud creates a surface that reads as organic and tactile.
  • 70% Polyester, 30% Wool: The wool content (30%) gives the bouclé its warmth and natural texture; the polyester content (70%) ensures the braided knit holds its shape and the bouclé loops remain intact after washing.
  • Crop Silhouette: The sweater is cut to sit at the waist — the crop length creates a deliberate proportion with the flared sleeves: minimal body, maximum sleeve volume.
  • Made in Italy: Bouclé knitting, braided construction, and finishing all completed in Italy under LA HAINE INSIDE US's atelier standards.

The Moment You Put It On

Mud in bouclé is immediately warm — the earthy tone adding depth to the looped surface, the braided pattern visible with warmth rather than the high contrast of ecru or the absorption of black. The flared sleeves fall from the shoulder with volume, the bouclé surface catching light as the sleeve opens at the cuff.

The mud colorway is the most versatile of the W5520 range — it works within earth-tone palettes and as a contrast to black or white, the bouclé texture reading as organic and grounded in a way that ecru and black do not.

W5520 Colorway Guide

The W5520 is available in three colorways — ecru, mud, and black — each revealing the bouclé braided knit differently. Ecru: maximum texture visibility, warm and light. Mud: warm and grounded, the texture visible with depth. Black: texture felt more than seen, monolithic and severe. Choose based on how you want the bouclé to read.

The Art of Bouclé

Bouclé is a yarn with a looped, knotted surface — the loops are created during the spinning process by feeding two threads at different tensions, causing one thread to loop around the other. The result is a yarn with a three-dimensional surface that creates a fabric with depth and texture that smooth yarn cannot replicate. In the W5520, the bouclé yarn is knitted in a braided construction — the loops of the bouclé and the crossings of the braid interact to create a surface that is simultaneously textured (from the yarn) and patterned (from the knit). In mud, the warm earthy tone adds depth to both the texture and the pattern — the colour amplifying the shadow of the bouclé loops and the braided crossings with warmth.

How to Wear It

  • Earth-Tone Palette: Wear with camel, sand, olive, or brown pieces — the mud bouclé sits naturally within an earth-tone palette, the texture adding depth to the warm colour story.
  • With High-Waisted Trousers: Wear with high-waisted wide-leg trousers — the crop sits at the waist, the bouclé texture and flared sleeves visible above the waistband.
  • Contrast with Black: Wear with black trousers or a black skirt — the mud bouclé against black creates a warm contrast that highlights the texture of the knit.
  • Under a Coat: Wear under an open camel or black coat — the mud bouclé and flared sleeves visible at the front and below the coat hem.

Care Instructions

  • Hand wash cold or machine wash on delicate cycle — the wool content requires gentle handling to prevent felting
  • Do not tumble dry — lay flat to dry to preserve the bouclé loops and flared sleeve shape
  • Do not iron directly on the bouclé surface — heat will flatten the loops; steam only at low temperature
  • Do not bleach
  • Store flat — avoid hanging, which can stretch the bouclé knit over time
