Regular price €191.62 EUR

Garment-Dyed. Laminated. Ribbed Underarm Insert. Double-Slider Zip. The Blazer That Has Been Treated Twice.

The W5511 is an asymmetric slim-fit blazer in stretch cotton — 97% cotton, 3% elastane — that has been garment-dyed and laminated (coated). Two finishing processes applied after construction: garment dyeing creates a colour with natural variation unique to each piece; lamination applies a coating to the cotton surface, creating a finish that is simultaneously matte and slightly reflective. The ribbed underarm insert allows freedom of movement; the double-slider zip allows the blazer to be opened from the top or the bottom. Made in Italy by LA HAINE INSIDE US.

Why This Blazer Is Different

  • Garment-Dyed and Laminated: Two finishing processes applied after construction. Garment dyeing: the blazer is dyed after construction, creating a colour with natural variation — seams, folds, and areas of tension absorb the dye differently, creating lighter and darker areas across the cotton surface. No two W5511 blazers are identical. Lamination: a coating applied to the cotton surface after dyeing, creating a finish that is simultaneously matte and slightly reflective — the laminated surface catching light differently from uncoated cotton, the coating adding a subtle sheen and a slight stiffness to the cotton hand. The combination of garment dyeing and lamination creates a surface that has both the natural variation of garment dyeing and the treated quality of lamination.
  • Ribbed Underarm Insert: The underarm panels of the blazer are constructed from ribbed fabric — a knitted rib that stretches with the arm movement. Unlike the stretch tulle underarms of the W5467 (which are open and visible), the ribbed underarm insert is a knitted rib that blends with the cotton body while providing stretch at the point of maximum movement. The rib texture contrasts with the laminated cotton surface — a tactile and visual contrast between the treated cotton and the knitted rib.
  • Double-Slider Zip Closure: A zip with two sliders that can be opened from the top or the bottom — allowing the blazer to be opened at the hem for movement while remaining closed at the chest, or opened at the chest while remaining closed at the hem. The double-slider zip adds functional versatility to the asymmetric slim-fit silhouette.
  • Asymmetric Construction: The blazer is cut asymmetrically — the front panels falling unevenly, the asymmetric construction creating a silhouette that reads differently from the front and the side. In laminated stretch cotton, the asymmetry is precise and structured.
  • Slim Fit: The blazer follows the body closely — the 3% elastane allowing the slim fit to move with the body without restricting movement, the ribbed underarm insert providing additional stretch at the arm.
  • 97% Cotton: The stretch cotton is natural, breathable, and comfortable against the skin. Unlike synthetic blazer fabrics, the cotton content makes the W5511 more breathable and comfortable to wear directly against the skin. The garment dyeing and lamination are applied to the cotton surface after construction, preserving the natural quality of the cotton while adding the treated finish.
  • Made in Italy: Garment dyeing, lamination, ribbed underarm insert construction, and all finishing completed in Italy under LA HAINE INSIDE US's atelier standards.

The Moment You Put It On

The laminated stretch cotton is immediately different from standard cotton — the surface treated and slightly reflective, the garment-dyed colour visible as natural variation across the laminated surface. The asymmetric front panels fall unevenly; the double-slider zip closes the front with a precise, industrial movement. The slim fit follows the body closely; the ribbed underarm insert allows the arm to move freely where the laminated cotton would otherwise restrict.

The W5511 is a blazer that has been treated twice — garment-dyed for colour variation, laminated for surface treatment. The result is a cotton blazer that reads as technical and considered: the natural variation of the garment dyeing visible beneath the laminated surface, the ribbed underarm insert contrasting with the treated cotton body.

The Art of Garment Dyeing and Lamination

Garment dyeing is a dyeing process performed after the garment is constructed — the finished blazer is immersed in dye, creating a colour with natural variation determined by the construction of the garment. Seams, folds, and areas of tension absorb the dye differently, creating lighter and darker areas that reflect the structure of the piece. No two garment-dyed pieces are identical. Lamination is a coating process applied to the fabric surface — a thin layer of material bonded to the cotton, creating a surface that is simultaneously matte and slightly reflective. In the W5511, the lamination is applied after garment dyeing — the coating sits on top of the garment-dyed colour, creating a surface that has both the natural variation of garment dyeing and the treated quality of lamination. The combination creates a cotton blazer that reads as technical and considered: natural beneath, treated above.

How to Wear It

  • Zip Closed, Slim: Close the double-slider zip and wear the blazer as a slim, asymmetric piece — the laminated cotton surface catching light, the garment-dyed variation visible across the treated surface.
  • Zip Open at Hem: Open the bottom slider for movement over wide-leg trousers — the blazer remains closed at the chest while opening at the hem for freedom of movement.
  • All Black: Combine with other black pieces — the laminated surface creates natural variation within an all-black palette, the garment-dyed colour adding depth.
  • With the W5512 Trouser: Wear with the matching W5512 trouser — the garment-dyed laminated cotton blazer and trouser as a complete, considered set.

Care Instructions

  • Hand wash cold or machine wash on delicate cycle — the garment-dyed colour is set; the laminated surface requires gentle handling to preserve the coating
  • Do not tumble dry — hang to dry to preserve the laminated surface and slim-fit shape
  • Do not iron directly on the laminated surface — heat will damage the coating; steam only at low temperature on the reverse
  • Do not bleach — bleach will strip the garment-dyed colour variation and damage the laminated surface
  • Store hung to preserve the asymmetric construction and slim-fit shape
