MUUBS Ball Lava S Lava Stone Sculpture - Black Decorative Sphere, Ø9 cm

A Simple Sphere. A Surface Full of Character.

The MUUBS Ball Lava S brings the texture of black lava stone into a compact decorative form. Its rounded silhouette contrasts with a visibly porous surface, giving the object interest at both room scale and close range. At 9 cm in diameter, it introduces a restrained material accent to a shelf, desk or console without requiring an elaborate arrangement.

Why This Decorative Sphere Is Different

• Lava stone material: A natural stone surface with distinctive porous character.
• Compact diameter: The 9 cm size suits smaller display compositions.
• Rounded silhouette: A clear geometric form against irregular surface detail.
• Black colour: Creates contrast with pale stone, plaster and timber.
• Visible texture: Small cavities and surface markings give depth to the dark finish.
• Light and shadow: Directional light reveals the texture across the curved surface.
• Standalone accent: Its form requires no flowers, candles or additional components.
• Material contrast: Unlike a smooth decorative ball, this sphere makes texture central to the composition.

Dimensions & Placement

Choose a stable position where the sphere cannot roll or fall, away from shelf edges. Protect delicate surfaces beneath the stone. Pumice, architectural settings and other accessories pictured are styling elements, not included with this listing; outdoor imagery does not confirm outdoor durability.

The Moment It Enters Your Space

Set Ball Lava S against a pale surface and the dark curve becomes a deliberate focal point. Close up, the porous texture reveals a more complex object than the simple outline first suggests.

Display it alone beside books or pair it with a larger sphere for a measured difference in scale. One small object can bring contrast to a quiet composition without filling the entire surface.

The Art of Lava Stone

The appeal lies in the relationship between geometry and material. The sphere offers a continuous curved outline; the lava stone interrupts it with pores and uneven detail. Natural surface variation may distinguish individual pieces, so the photographed examples illustrate the material character rather than an identical pattern on every object.

How to Style It

• Bookshelf: Place in a secure position beside a short stack of books for textural contrast.
• Console: Combine with a smooth ceramic vessel and leave space between the objects.
• Desk: Use as a decorative accent on a protected surface, away from the edge.
• Grouped composition: Pair with Ball Lava L for contrasting scale, ensuring both objects remain securely positioned.

Care Instructions

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth or a soft brush for the textured surface. Avoid abrasive cleaning products, soaking and impacts. Handle carefully and protect delicate furniture from direct contact with the stone. Follow the manufacturer's supplied care guidance. This is a decorative object, not a toy.
