Regular price €297.00 EUR

Warm-Dyed. Roller-Treated. Doubled High Collar. The Bomber That Has Been Through Something.

The W5501 is a crop oversized bomber in stretch cotton twill — 97% cotton, 3% elastane — fully lined in 100% cotton, with a warm dyeing and roller treatment applied to both sides, a doubled high collar, zip closure, welt pockets, and elasticated cuffs and hem. Two finishing processes applied after construction: warm dyeing creates a colour with natural variation; the roller treatment creates a surface texture pressed into the twill on both the front and back. The result is a bomber that has been through something — the colour and surface of the fabric carrying the marks of its finishing. Made in Italy by LA HAINE INSIDE US.

Why This Bomber Is Different

  • Warm Dyeing: The bomber is dyed at warm temperature after construction — a process that creates a colour with natural variation across the fabric. Unlike cold dyeing (which creates lighter, more uneven variation), warm dyeing creates a deeper, more saturated colour with variation that reads as rich and considered. In black, the warm dyeing creates a black that is not flat or uniform — the variation visible across the stretch cotton twill surface, the colour reading as deep and dimensional.
  • Roller Treatment on Both Sides: A mechanical finishing process where a textured roller is pressed against the fabric surface — applied to both the front and back of the stretch cotton twill. The roller treatment creates a surface texture that is pressed into the twill weave, adding a dimensional quality to the fabric surface that is visible and tactile. Applied to both sides, the treatment is consistent across the entire bomber — the texture visible on the exterior and the lining.
  • Doubled High Collar: A high collar constructed from two layers of the same stretch cotton twill — the doubled construction adding structure and warmth to the collar while maintaining the fabric quality of the bomber body. The high collar rises from the chest and frames the face, the doubled construction giving it more presence than a single-layer collar.
  • Stretch Cotton Twill: 97% cotton, 3% elastane — the cotton provides natural breathability and structure; the 3% elastane adds stretch and recovery without changing the hand of the twill. The twill weave creates a fabric with more body and drape than plain weave, and the diagonal weave structure is visible across the warm-dyed, roller-treated surface.
  • Cotton Lining: 100% cotton lining — natural, breathable, and soft against the skin. Unlike polyester lining, the cotton lining breathes with the cotton shell, making the W5501 more comfortable to wear in a wider range of temperatures.
  • Elasticated Cuffs and Hem: Elasticated cuffs and hem that seal the bomber silhouette — the classic bomber construction detail that creates a defined, structured bottom and wrist finish.
  • Welt Pockets: Clean, precise welt pockets that maintain the bomber's unbroken silhouette.
  • Crop Oversized Silhouette: The bomber is cut to sit at the waist but with an oversized body — the crop length creating a deliberate proportion with the elasticated hem, the oversized body creating volume above.
  • Made in Italy: Warm dyeing, roller treatment, doubled collar construction, and all finishing completed in Italy under LA HAINE INSIDE US's atelier standards.

The Moment You Put It On

The warm-dyed stretch cotton twill is immediately different from standard black — the colour deep and dimensional, the roller treatment visible as a surface texture pressed into the twill weave. The doubled high collar rises from the chest with structure and warmth; the zip closes the front with a clean, precise movement. The elasticated cuffs and hem seal the bomber silhouette — the classic bomber construction detail creating a defined, structured bottom and wrist finish.

The cotton lining breathes with the cotton shell — the W5501 is more comfortable to wear in a wider range of temperatures than a polyester-lined bomber. The crop oversized body sits at the waist with volume above, the elasticated hem creating a defined bottom edge. A bomber that has been through something — the warm dyeing and roller treatment carrying the marks of its finishing.

The Art of Warm Dyeing and Roller Treatment

Warm dyeing is a dyeing process performed at warm temperature — typically above 60°C — after the garment is constructed. Unlike cold dyeing, which creates lighter, more uneven variation, warm dyeing creates a deeper, more saturated colour with variation that reads as rich and considered. The roller treatment is a mechanical finishing process where a textured roller is pressed against the fabric surface under pressure, creating a surface texture that is pressed into the weave structure. In the W5501, both processes are applied after construction and to both sides of the stretch cotton twill — the warm dyeing creating the colour, the roller treatment creating the surface texture. The combination creates a fabric that carries the marks of its finishing: a black that is not flat, a surface that is not smooth.

How to Wear It

  • Collar Up, Zipped: Zip the bomber fully and wear the doubled high collar up — the warm-dyed twill and roller-treated surface visible, the elasticated hem and cuffs sealing the silhouette.
  • With High-Waisted Trousers: Wear with high-waisted wide-leg trousers — the crop oversized bomber sits at the waist, the elasticated hem creating a defined bottom edge above the waistband.
  • Over a Turtleneck: Wear over a fitted black turtleneck — the doubled high collar of the bomber over the turtleneck, the warm-dyed twill the focal point.
  • All Black: Combine with other black pieces — the warm dyeing and roller treatment create natural variation within an all-black palette.

Care Instructions

  • Machine wash cold, delicate cycle — the warm-dyed colour is set; the roller treatment is pressed into the weave and will not wash out
  • Do not tumble dry at high heat — hang to dry or tumble dry low to preserve the crop oversized shape and elasticated cuffs and hem
  • Iron on low heat on the reverse if needed — avoid ironing directly on the roller-treated surface at high heat
  • Do not bleach — bleach will strip the warm-dyed colour variation
  • Store hung to preserve the doubled high collar shape
