W5505 Dress - Black Asymmetric Satin Viscose Wool Gauze Sleeves Removable Sash Metal Zip Women's Italian
Satin Body. Gauze Sleeves. Nothing in Between.
The W5505 is a study in material contrast. The body is 100% polyester satin — smooth, reflective, structured. The sleeves are viscose-wool gauze (80% viscose, 20% wool) — sheer, textured, and entirely different in weight and character. An asymmetric cut, a back metal zip, and a removable double-layered sash at the waist: a dress that combines two fabrics that have no business being together, and makes it look inevitable. Made in Italy by LA HAINE INSIDE US.
Why This Dress Is Different
- Satin Body, Gauze Sleeves: Two fabrics in deliberate opposition — the satin body is smooth, reflective, and structured; the viscose-wool gauze sleeves are sheer, textured, and airy. Where standard two-fabric dresses use contrast for decoration, the W5505 uses it as the primary design language.
- Viscose-Wool Gauze Sleeves: 80% viscose, 20% wool — a gauze weave that is simultaneously sheer and warm. The wool content adds a subtle texture and warmth to what would otherwise be a purely transparent fabric; the viscose gives it drape and softness. The sleeves fall from the shoulder with a different weight and movement from the satin body below.
- 100% Polyester Satin Body: A smooth, reflective satin that catches light and holds its shape — the polyester content ensures the satin maintains its structure and sheen over time, unlike viscose satins that can lose their surface with wear.
- Asymmetric Cut: The hem is deliberately uneven — a design decision built into the pattern that creates movement and visual interest without additional styling.
- Removable Double-Layered Sash: A doubled, structured sash at the waist that can be tied to define the silhouette or removed entirely for a clean, unstructured fall. The double layering gives the sash enough body to hold its shape when tied.
- Back Metal Zip Closure: A metal zip at the back that keeps the front silhouette completely clean and uninterrupted. The metal hardware adds a cool, industrial contrast to the soft satin and gauze.
- Made in Italy: Two-fabric construction, asymmetric pattern, and finishing all completed in Italy under LA HAINE INSIDE US's atelier standards.

The Moment You Put It On
The satin catches the light immediately — smooth, reflective, precise. Then you move, and the gauze sleeves catch the air: sheer, textured, falling differently from the satin body below. Two fabrics, two weights, two entirely different relationships with light and movement — on the same body, at the same time.
The sash changes the equation. Tied at the waist, it defines the silhouette and creates a third material moment — the doubled fabric sitting between the satin body and the gauze sleeves. Removed, the dress returns to its clean, asymmetric fall: satin below, gauze above, metal zip at the back.
The Art of Viscose-Wool Gauze
Gauze is an open-weave fabric — the threads are spaced apart rather than woven tightly, creating a sheer, airy surface with visible texture. In the W5505, the gauze is a viscose-wool blend (80% viscose, 20% wool): the viscose gives the gauze its drape and softness, while the wool adds a subtle warmth and texture that prevents the sheerness from reading as purely delicate. The result is a sleeve fabric that is simultaneously transparent and substantial — sheer enough to reveal the arm beneath, textured enough to hold its own against the reflective satin body.
How to Wear It
- With Sash, Evening: Tie the double-layered sash at the waist — the satin body becomes defined, the gauze sleeves frame the arms, and the asymmetric hem creates movement at the bottom. Wear with heeled sandals or pointed-toe boots.
- Without Sash, Clean: Remove the sash for a clean, unstructured fall — the asymmetric hem and fabric contrast do the work. Wear with flat mules or bare feet.
- Layered: Wear under a long structured coat — the gauze sleeves visible below the coat hem, the satin body catching light at the bottom.
- Resort: The gauze sleeves and satin body make this a natural resort dress — the sheerness of the gauze works in warm climates, the satin body provides coverage and structure.
Care Instructions
- Hand wash cold — the wool content in the gauze sleeves requires gentle handling
- Do not machine wash — the wool gauze will felt or distort in a machine cycle
- Do not tumble dry — lay flat or hang to dry away from direct sunlight
- Do not iron the gauze sleeves — steam only at low temperature
- Iron the satin body on the reverse at low heat if needed
- Do not bleach
- Store hung to preserve the asymmetric hem shape and gauze drape
