4M W5453 Trousers - Black Oversized Baggy Stretch Fleece Drawstring Unisex Italian
Volume You Can Actually Wear All Day
Oversized baggy trousers in stretch fleece, cut with diagonal self-fabric inserts that break the leg into panels and give the volume direction. Elasticated waist with an internal drawstring, plus drawstrings at the hips to pull the shape in or let it fall. Made in Italy by LA HAINE INSIDE US, unisex, the softest architectural thing in the wardrobe.
Why These Trousers Are Different
- Diagonal self-fabric inserts — panels cut on the diagonal in the same cloth, so the volume has structure and line instead of just being wide.
- Side drawstrings — adjust the hip and cinch the silhouette. Unlike standard sweatpants with one fixed shape, these can be re-drawn on you.
- Elasticated waistband with internal drawstring — two levels of adjustment, no visible hardware.
- Stretch fleece — brushed softness inside with genuine give, so where a rigid trouser restricts the stride, this moves.
- Oversized baggy cut — real volume through hip and thigh, falling rather than clinging.
- Unisex — sized XS to XL with a waist and hip range designed to work across body types.
- Pockets — functional, deep enough for phone and keys.
- Total black, no logos — pure silhouette, nothing to date it.
- Made in Italy — Italian construction and finishing throughout.

Unisex oversized fit with an elasticated, drawstring waist — each size spans a wide range. Size down for less volume.
The Moment You Put It On
The fleece is brushed soft on the inside, so the first contact is warmth, not fabric. The waistband gives, the volume drops from the hip, and the diagonal inserts catch the light so the leg reads as panels rather than a flat expanse of black.
Then you pull the side drawstrings and the shape tightens into something deliberate. Loosen them and it falls open again. Where standard sweatpants offer comfort and nothing else, these give you comfort and a silhouette you control, which is why they end up worn far outside the house.
The Art of Diagonal Inserts
Cutting panels on the diagonal, across the grain rather than along it, changes how fabric behaves: it drapes more fluidly and falls in curves rather than straight folds. Using the same cloth for those inserts means the seams read as structure rather than contrast. It is more wasteful to cut and harder to match, and it is exactly what stops oversized volume from looking shapeless.
The Art of Stretch Fleece
Fleece is brushed on the inside face to raise a pile that traps warm air, which is why it insulates at a fraction of the weight of woven cloth. Adding stretch means the fabric recovers rather than bagging out at the knee and seat, the failure point of most soft trousers. The combination is what lets a garment this relaxed still hold its line at the end of a long day.
How to Wear It
- Everyday: drawstrings loose over chunky boots, with an oversized tee, full volume top to bottom.
- Sharp daytime: hips cinched, worn with a fitted knit so the waist reads defined against the baggy leg.
- Travel: soft, warm and adjustable, the most comfortable thing you can wear for a long journey.
- Evening: with a long black shirt or coat over the top, letting the leg volume do the work.
Care Instructions
- Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, inside out, to protect the brushed pile.
- Wash with similar dark colours.
- Do not bleach.
- Do not tumble dry on high heat — heat flattens fleece pile and degrades the stretch.
- Do not iron the fleece face; if needed, press on low inside out.
- Tie the drawstrings before washing so they do not pull out of the channel.
- Line dry in shade and reshape the waistband while damp.
- Fold to store; hanging by the waistband stretches the elastic over time.
