W5410 Tunic - Mud Oversized Asymmetric Viscose Satin Cold-Dyed Gathered Sleeves Elasticated Cuffs Women's Italian

Regular price €126.00 EUR

Mud. Satin. Nothing Predictable.

The W5410 in mud is the same architectural silhouette as the grey — 100% viscose satin, cold-dyed, oversized and asymmetric, gathered sleeves with elasticated cuffs — but in a colorway that changes the entire register of the piece. Mud in viscose satin is warm, earthy, and alive: it shifts from deep tobacco-brown to warm ochre depending on the light and the direction of the satin weave. A colour that is neither brown nor grey, but something between the two that reads as entirely its own. Made in Italy by LA HAINE INSIDE US.

Why This Tunic Is Different

  • Cold-Dyed Viscose Satin in Mud: 100% viscose, cold-dyed after construction — the mud colour is the result of a low-temperature dyeing process applied to the finished garment. The satin weave interacts with the cold dye to create a colour that shifts across the surface: warm in the folds, cooler on the flat panels, different again where the satin catches the light at an angle. No two pieces are identical.
  • Gathered Sleeves with Elasticated Cuffs: The sleeves are gathered into elasticated cuffs, creating a lantern-like volume along the arm that collapses to a fitted finish at the wrist. In mud viscose satin, the gathered volume catches the warm colour differently at each fold — the cold dye variation is amplified by the gathering.
  • Asymmetric Oversized Silhouette: The hem is deliberately uneven — longer at the back, shorter at the front — creating a silhouette that works as a tunic over trousers or as a short dress worn alone. In mud, the asymmetric hem reads as more organic and grounded than in grey.
  • 100% Viscose Satin: A natural-derived fibre with a fluid drape and a natural sheen. In mud, the viscose content gives the colour a warmth and depth that synthetic satins cannot replicate — the mud shifts and moves rather than sitting flat.
  • Made in Italy: Cold dyeing, gathered sleeve construction, and finishing all completed in Italy under LA HAINE INSIDE US's atelier standards.

The Moment You Put It On

Mud in satin is not what you expect. It is warm in a way that grey cannot be — the viscose satin catches light differently, shifting from deep tobacco-brown in shadow to warm ochre where the fabric catches the sun. The gathered sleeves amplify the colour variation: each fold of the gather holds the cold dye differently, creating a sleeve that reads as dimensional rather than flat.

The asymmetric hem means the tunic reads differently from the front and the back. In mud, the longer back hem creates a warm, earthy trail; the shorter front hem reveals the leg while the warm satin falls behind. This is a piece that rewards movement.

The Art of Cold Dyeing on Viscose Satin

Cold dyeing is a low-temperature dyeing process applied to the finished garment. In viscose satin, the effect is amplified by the weave: the satin surface reflects light differently depending on the direction of the weave, and the cold dye interacts with this directionality to create a colour that appears to shift across the surface. The mud colour in the W5410 is the result of this process — warm in some lights, cool in others, never flat. Because the garment is already constructed when it enters the dye bath, seams and stress points absorb more dye than flat panels, creating a dimensional finish that cannot be replicated with standard fabric dyeing. In the gathered sleeves, the gathering points absorb more dye than the flat areas between them — creating a colour variation that is unique to this construction. Each piece is unrepeatable.

How to Wear It

  • Over Trousers, Earth Tones: Wear over wide-leg trousers in black, camel, or olive — the mud satin sits naturally within an earth-tone palette, the asymmetric hem creating a layered silhouette.
  • As a Short Dress: Wear alone with heeled sandals or flat mules — the shorter front hem reveals the leg while the longer back hem adds warmth and drama from behind.
  • Belted: Add a wide leather belt at the waist to define the silhouette — the gathered sleeves and mud satin remain the focal points above and below.
  • Layered Under a Coat: Wear under a long camel or black coat with the gathered sleeves and asymmetric hem visible below — the mud satin catches light even under outerwear.

Care Instructions

  • Hand wash cold — cold water only to preserve the cold-dyed finish and viscose satin
  • Do not machine wash — viscose satin loses its drape and sheen in a machine wash cycle
  • Do not tumble dry — lay flat or hang to dry away from direct sunlight
  • Do not iron directly — steam only, or iron on the reverse at low heat
  • Do not bleach — bleach will strip the cold dye and damage the viscose
  • Store hung to preserve the drape and the gathered sleeve shape
