Two Processes. One Unrepeatable Surface.

The THOM KROM M SJ 706 in grey stone wash spray is the same worked knit 100% cotton construction as the black version — the same silhouette, the same natural stretch, the same breathability. But its surface has been through two finishing processes that no standard dyeing can replicate: a stone wash that softens and distresses the cotton knit, followed by a spray application that deposits colour unevenly across the surface, creating tonal variation, depth, and a weathered character that is different on every garment. German design. Turkish manufacture.

Why This Jacket Is Different

  • Stone wash + spray finish: A dual-process treatment — stone washing first breaks down the cotton fibre surface for softness and texture, then spray application creates unrepeatable tonal variation across the grey
  • Each piece is unique: Spray dyeing cannot be applied identically twice — the distribution of grey tone, the depth of the wash, and the resulting surface pattern differ between every garment
  • 100% Cotton worked knit: Natural stretch, breathability, and a loop-structured surface that accepts and expresses the finishing treatment differently from woven cotton
  • Stone wash softness: The stone wash pre-softens the cotton before the spray treatment — the jacket arrives already broken in, with a hand-feel that unwashed cotton takes years to develop
  • German design: THOM KROM construction precision applied to a process-driven finish
  • Unlike the M SJ 706 black which is a clean construction statement, the grey stone wash spray is a surface statement — the jacket that carries its own visual history
  • No logos: The stone wash and spray texture are the identity — every surface mark is intentional and unrepeatable
  • Investment quality: Stone-washed cotton has already dimensionally stabilised and pre-softened; the spray finish is absorbed into the fibre, not sitting on the surface

The Moment You Put It On

The stone-washed cotton is already soft — the hand-feel of a garment worn and cared for many times, delivered on first wear. The grey is complex: lighter where the spray was lightest, deeper where the stone wash pulled the surface open to receive more colour. In daylight the variation is visible and intentional. In lower light it reads as a sophisticated, layered grey that no uniform dyeing produces.

This is the jacket with its own past already written into its surface. Yours begins when you put it on.

The Art of Stone Wash and Spray

Stone washing and spray dyeing are two separate finishing processes that THOM KROM combines in the M SJ 706 grey to produce a surface that neither process alone could achieve. Stone washing — tumbling the garment with pumice stones or enzymatic agents after construction — breaks down the cotton fibre surface, producing softness, a slight surface irregularity, and a pre-aged character. The fabric absorbs subsequent treatments more unevenly after this process, which is exactly what THOM KROM exploits in the second stage: spray dyeing, which applies colour in an aerosol or directed-jet process across the surface of the already-distressed knit. The spray deposits unevenly, settling more heavily in the surface irregularities created by the stone wash and less on the smoother areas. The result is a grey that has depth — lighter and darker registers across the same panel, a tonal complexity that reads differently in different light. No two applications are identical. No two jackets are the same.

How to Wear It

  • As the statement piece: With clean black THOM KROM trousers and a base layer — the grey stone wash spray surface is the visual anchor of the look
  • Tonal grey layering: Over the M P 52 used grey cotton trouser — two different grey finishing processes in conversation; the washed trouser and the stone wash spray jacket share material language without matching
  • Under the M J 94 woven jacket: The knit's stretch makes it a natural mid-layer; the grey reads as a considered break beneath the black woven shell
  • Weekend and movement: Stone wash softness and knit stretch make this the jacket for active, physical days without sacrificing the THOM KROM aesthetic

Care Instructions

  • Machine wash cold, gentle cycle — inside out to protect the spray finish and stone wash surface character
  • Do not tumble dry — lay flat to dry to maintain knit structure and prevent shoulder stretching
  • Do not bleach — the spray finish is part of the fabric; bleach will destroy the tonal variation
  • Low steam iron if needed — press from inside with a cloth barrier; the stone wash surface should not be pressed directly
  • Do not dry clean
  • Store folded to prevent knit stretching at shoulder seams over time

The M SJ 706 Grey Stone Wash Spray is THOM KROM with process as identity. Cotton. Worked. Turkey.
