THOM KROM M S 191 Sweatshirt - Black Four-Fabric Cotton Polyester Elastane Worked Knit Men's German
Four Fabrics. One Pullover. Every Panel Optimised.
The THOM KROM M S 191 is a worked knit pullover sweatshirt built with four distinct fabrics: an 88% cotton, 12% polyester shell for the primary body panels; a 97% cotton, 3% elastane shell for the high-movement panels; a 95% cotton, 5% elastane rib at the cuffs, hem, and collar; and 100% cotton piping at the seam and detail lines. This is not a material specification arrived at by convention. Each fabric is placed at the zone where its specific properties are the correct solution to the construction problem that zone presents. German design. Turkish manufacture.
Why This Sweatshirt Is Different
- Shell 1 — 88% Cotton, 12% Polyester: The primary body panels in a cotton-polyester worked knit — dimensional stability, abrasion resistance, and shape retention beyond what pure cotton achieves at the same weight; the polyester content holds the silhouette across sustained wear and washing
- Shell 2 — 97% Cotton, 3% Elastane: The high-movement panels in a cotton-elastane worked knit — targeted stretch recovery in the zones where the body's range of motion requires give, without affecting the visual or tactile character of the cotton-dominant blend
- Rib — 95% Cotton, 5% Elastane: Higher elastane content at the cuffs, hem, and collar than either shell — because the rib must recover from repeated stretching over the life of the garment; 5% elastane retains rib tension indefinitely where lower concentrations eventually lose recovery
- Piping — 100% Cotton: Pure cotton at the seam and detail lines — natural feel at the visible construction details, no synthetic texture at the surface-level finishing
- Four-fabric construction logic: No zone uses the same fabric as another without a functional reason — the M S 191 is the most precisely specified sweatshirt in the THOM KROM pullover range
- Worked / gewirkt throughout: Loop-built fabric at every panel — the construction method is consistent even as the material composition varies
- German design: THOM KROM panel-by-panel fabric precision applied to a pullover sweatshirt
- Unlike the M S 197 which uses a two-fabric construction (cotton shell, cotton-elastane rib), the M S 191 applies four independent fabric specifications — a more complex garment built to perform differently at every zone

The Moment You Put It On
The primary body panels have weight — the 12% polyester adds density to the cotton knit that you feel immediately across the chest and back. The movement panels give when you raise your arms or reach forward. The rib at the wrist holds with the tension of a 5% elastane construction — firmer than a cotton-only rib, recovering after every extension. The cotton piping sits clean at the seam lines. Every detail is present without announcing itself.
This is the sweatshirt built for the full range of what a day requires. The construction handles it. You just wear it.
The Art of Four-Fabric Worked Knit Construction
The M S 191 is the result of applying a panel-by-panel construction logic to a worked knit pullover — the same engineering approach THOM KROM uses in the M SJ 703 and M SJ 707 dual-shell jackets, taken one step further. Shell 1 uses the 88/12 cotton-polyester blend from the M SJ 705 jacket shell: dimensional stability and abrasion resistance for the body panels that carry the garment's silhouette. Shell 2 uses a 97/3 cotton-elastane blend: targeted stretch recovery in the panels where the body's movement demands give, at a low enough elastane concentration that the visual and tactile character of the cotton-dominant knit is preserved. The rib uses 95/5 cotton-elastane at a higher elastane concentration than either shell, because the rib faces a different mechanical challenge: it must stretch repeatedly over the garment's entire service life and recover fully each time. At 5% elastane, this recovery is indefinite. The 100% cotton piping at the seam lines closes the construction with a natural-feel detail that reads as a considered finishing choice rather than a utilitarian edge treatment. Four fabrics, four solutions, one garment.
How to Wear It
- As a standalone piece: The four-fabric construction gives the M S 191 a presence beyond a standard sweatshirt — the piping detail and panel structure visible at collar and cuff, a complete look without layering
- Under the M SJ 705 lined jacket: The 88/12 cotton-polyester shell composition matches the M SJ 705 jacket shell exactly — a technically unified layering decision, consistent construction throughout
- Under the M SJ 703 or M SJ 707 dual-shell jacket: The M S 191's movement panels compress cleanly under the knit jacket without bulk; the elastane in both layers accommodates the combined restriction
- With the M ST 537 dual-shell trousers: A full worked knit construction — the sweatshirt's four-fabric logic above, the trouser's dual-shell logic below, a complete cotton-dominant worked knit look
Care Instructions
- Machine wash cold, gentle cycle — inside out to protect knit surface texture, piping detail, and colour depth
- Do not tumble dry — lay flat to dry to maintain knit structure and prevent shoulder stretching under gravity; flat drying also protects the piping from deforming
- Do not bleach
- Low steam iron if needed — press from inside with a cloth barrier; avoid direct heat on the elastane-blend panels and piping
- Do not dry clean
- Store folded to prevent knit and rib from stretching at the shoulders over time
The M S 191 is THOM KROM at maximum construction specification. Cotton. Polyester. Elastane. Worked. Turkey.
