THOM KROM M TS 960 T-Shirt - Ecru Off White Cotton Elastane Worked Knit Men's German
Cotton at Its Clearest.
The THOM KROM M TS 960 is a worked knit t-shirt in a single fabric: 95% cotton, 5% elastane. No viscose, no polyester, no modal — cotton is the material in the primary position and the 5% elastane provides the stretch recovery that pure cotton cannot. In ecru, the natural off-white of the cotton fibre reads without interference from synthetic content or finishing treatments. The worked knit loop structure adds mechanical stretch and a surface texture distinct from jersey. The simplest construction in the THOM KROM t-shirt range, and the one that places cotton most directly in the foreground. German design. Turkish manufacture.
Why This T-Shirt Is Different
- 95% Cotton, 5% Elastane — single fabric: No shell differentiation, no panel complexity — one fabric specification applied uniformly across the entire garment; the purest cotton expression in the THOM KROM t-shirt range
- 95% Cotton majority: Natural breathability, softness, and moisture absorption that synthetic-dominant blends cannot replicate; cotton's cellulose structure wicks moisture through the fibre wall and releases it at the surface, making this the coolest-wearing blend in the THOM KROM t-shirt range under direct heat or physical exertion
- 5% Elastane throughout: Full-garment stretch and recovery in every direction, distributed uniformly through the blend — the t-shirt extends with the body and returns to its original dimensions; unlike pure cotton which eventually bags and loses shape, the M TS 960 recovers consistently across its service life
- Ecru / off-white: The natural colour of undyed or lightly finished cotton — ecru reads warmer and softer than optical white, without the brightness that processing and brightening agents add; against skin, ecru sits more naturally than white without disappearing into neutral
- Worked / gewirkt construction: Loop-built fabric throughout — the knit loop structure provides inherent mechanical stretch amplified by the elastane content, and a surface texture with visible depth that differentiates this from a flat jersey t-shirt
- German design: THOM KROM construction applied to the most reduced specification in the t-shirt range — simplicity as a deliberate choice, not a default
- No logos: The ecru cotton surface, the worked knit texture, and the cut carry the identity
- Unlike the M TS 978 (three fabrics, viscose-led) and the M TS 1001 (high-polyester performance blend), the M TS 960 places cotton in an uncomplicated primary position — the t-shirt for those who want the natural material without synthetic modification beyond the minimum required for shape retention

The Moment You Put It On
Cotton at 95% concentration reads as cotton should: immediately warm to the touch before it cools, breathable from the first moment, soft against the skin without the slipperiness of viscose or the density of a polyester blend. The ecru carries a warmth that optical white does not — it sits against skin tones of every register without the stark contrast of processed white, without the formality that white introduces. The 5% elastane means the t-shirt returns to where it started after every extension.
This is the piece you reach for when everything else is too considered.
The Art of Cotton at 95%
At 95% cotton, the M TS 960 sits at the maximum natural fibre content that still provides meaningful elastane contribution. Pure cotton worked knit stretches through the mechanical action of the knit loop structure but does not recover — over repeated wear and washing, the loops relax and the garment progressively loses its original dimensions. At 5% elastane, each cotton-elastane fibre thread contains a polyurethane core that acts as a spring: it extends when the fabric stretches and contracts when the tension is released, maintaining the shape of the knit loop structure across the service life of the garment. This is the minimum elastane concentration required for consistent recovery in a worked knit t-shirt. The M TS 960 uses exactly this minimum — enough elastane to provide function, not enough to change the character of the cotton. In ecru, the absence of heavy dyeing or optical brightening agents means the cotton fibres retain more of their natural surface character: the slight irregularity of natural cellulose, the warmth of undyed cotton, the softness that processing can partially remove. Cotton is what it is here, at its clearest.
How to Wear It
- As a standalone piece in warm weather: The 95% cotton breathes maximally and the ecru reads as considered without effort — with the M ST 537 black trousers for a tonal contrast built on the simplest THOM KROM foundation
- As a base layer for the THOM KROM autumn range: The high cotton content breathes under any outer layer; the ecru reads as a warm inner layer against the black and grey of the THOM KROM jacket and trouser range
- Layered under the M SJ 701 or M SJ 703 dual-shell jacket: The pure cotton t-shirt beneath the cotton-dominant dual-shell jacket — a consistent material register from the innermost layer outward, the ecru providing a warm tonal counterpoint visible at the collar and hem
- Summer resort and travel: Maximum cotton breathability and natural moisture management; the ecru survives transit and sun without the starkness of optical white; the elastane keeps the t-shirt looking as it started
Care Instructions
- Machine wash cold or warm, gentle cycle — the 95% cotton content is wash-stable; cold water preserves ecru's warmth and prevents progressive brightening from detergent residue; avoid high-temperature washes that can yellow natural cotton over time
- Wash inside out to protect the worked knit surface and prevent pilling under friction
- Do not tumble dry on high heat — lay flat to dry or tumble dry on low; high heat degrades elastane recovery over repeated cycles
- Do not bleach — bleach will destroy the natural ecru tone and produce uneven yellowing across the cotton surface
- Low steam iron if needed — press from inside with a cloth barrier; avoid direct high heat on the elastane content
- Store folded to maintain the worked knit structure over time
The M TS 960 is THOM KROM cotton, simply. 95%. Worked. Turkey.
